Cook, Capers join Redskins' practice squad roster

September 6, 2010 12:36 am

The Washington Redskins yesterday signed seven players whom they released on Saturday to their practice squad.

Rookie offensive linemen Erik Cook and Selvish Capers, whom the Redskins drafted in April, were signed. Seventh-round receiver Terrence Austin also was signed after losing his roster competition with undrafted rookie Brandon Banks.

Veteran running back Ryan Torain, veteran offensive tackle Will Robinson, third-year linebacker Rob Jackson and undrafted rookie safety Anderson Russell also were added.

All seven players cleared waivers after being released in Saturday's final roster cut. One spot on the practice squad remains open.

The Redskins had the day off yesterday. They return to practice today to continue preparations for their regular-season opener against Dallas Sunday night at FedEx Field.
