Nearly all of Randolph-Macon's points in its 54-14 season-opening romp over Methodist came from Fredericksburg-area players.
Senior quarterback Austin Faulkner (Riverbend) threw three touchdown passes, and junior running back Thaddeus Scruggs (Massaponax) ran for three scores. Faulkner was 15-for-20 for 220 yards, and Scruggs gained 83 yards on 15 carries.
A couple of younger Jackets also got in on the scoring when freshman Luke Sellers (Courtland) threw a 12-yard TD pass to Jesse Naccarato (Riverbend) in the fourth quarter. Sellers finished 3-for-4 for 31 yards.
Randolph-Macon hosts Johns Hopkins Saturday at 2 p.m.

Sophomore linebacker Jabrel Mines (Caroline) made a team-high 16 tackles in his first college start and junior safety Terrell Wells (Louisa) had eight in William & Mary's opening 27-23 loss at Massachusetts.
In his college debut, redshirt freshman Chase Barnett (Brooke Point) rushed for a team-high 56 yards eight carries in Liberty's 52-7 win over St. Francis (Pa.) Saturday.
Senior Jamal Sullivan (Caroline) ran for 66 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries in James Madison's 48-7 rout of Morehead State.
Junior safety Byron Allen (Massaponax) had a team-high nine tackles in VMI's season-opening 48-6 romp over Lock Haven.
Senior Hakeem Moore (Courtland) had 221 all-purpose yards in Towson's 51-17 loss to Indiana, including a 64-yard touchdown catch.
Sophomore Stevie Strother (Eastern View) carried four times for 38 yards and a touchdown in Southern Illinois' 70-7 romp over Quincy Thursday.
Redshirt freshman defensive end Kerry Wynn (Louisa) had a sack in his college debut in the Spiders' 34-13 loss to Virginia.
VOLLEYBALL
Sophomore setter Sarah Frohnapfel had 91 assists as Lafayette beat Fairleigh Dickinson and St. Peter's to win its own weekend invitational tournament. She also had 21 digs.
Sophomore Bianca Richardson (Colonial Forge) had a career-high 10 kills in American University's 3-0 sweep of Hampton Friday.
Junior Courtney Hott (Courtland) had six blocks in VCU's 3-0 sweep of Seton Hall at the Hampton Inn Classic at State College, Pa.
Sophomore Kerri Carneal (Chancellor) passed out 30 assists in Stetson's loss to Wofford in the Clarion Invitational Saturday.
CROSS COUNTRY
Bridgewater freshman Olivia Mills (Fredericksburg, Christian) topped a field of 48 runners (25:34) in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference women's preview meet hosted by Randolph College.
Freshman Hannah Best (Louisa) and sophomore Leah Schubel (Chancellor) helped VMI take the top two spots in Friday's VMI Cross Country Relays. Each ran on a two-woman team that finished with the same time.
Junior Brittany Copeland (Brooke Point) was East Carolina's top finisher (10th overall, 18:24.9) at the Covered Bridge Open in Boone, N.C.
SOCCER
Long Island junior Nik Conklin (North Stafford) scored his second goal of the night on an overtime breakaway as the Blackbirds beat the New Jersey Institute of Technology 4-3 in their season opener.
Junior midfielder Lauren McCoy (Courtland) suffered a torn ACL after Villanova's opening game and is expected to miss the rest of the season.
FIELD HOCKEY
Junior Niamh Connolly (Chancellor) scored twice in Radford's 6-1 win over William & Mary Sunday. Senior Lara Carriker (Chancellor) also scored as the Highlanders improved to 4-0 for the first time since 1983.
BASKETBALL
VMI retired the No. 55 jersey of Caroline County native Reggie Williams at halftime of Saturday's football game with Lock Haven. Williams led the nation in scoring in both 2006-07 and 2007-08 and now plays for the NBA's Golden State Warriors.
