William B. Simpson

William B. "Bill" Simpson, 88, of Fredericksburg passed away Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at his residence.

He was a World War II U.S. Marine Corps veteran and retired after 25 years of service from the U.S. Postal Service. He was an avid ham radio operator.

He is survived by three sons, Gene Simpson of San Rafael, Calif., Philip Simpson of Clarksville, Md., and Dennis Simpson of Harrisburg, Pa.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Simpson.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 27, at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28, in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
