Carmela Lydia Franich, 84, of Fredericksburg passed away Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Carmela was born on Feb. 15, 1927, in New Jersey to Angelo and Anna Annecchino.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Franich Sr.
Carmela is survived by two sons, John Franich Jr. and wife Novella of New Market and Mark Franich and wife Isabel of Fredericksburg; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brother Angelo Annecchino.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Home, Fredericksburg Chapel, 1621 Jefferson Davis Highway. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Thursday, Sept. 29, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Elys Ford Road, Spotsylvania. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in Quantico National Cemetery.
