K.G. School Board selects 2012 leaders The King George County School Board selected new leadership at its first meeting of the year. On Tuesday night, the five-member board elected Mike Rose as chairman and John Davis as vice chairman. Rose was elected to the School Board in 2009, and Davis, an at-large member, returned to the board this month after serving two previous terms. New to the board are James Madison District representative Kristin Tolliver and Dahlgren District representative Ken Novell. Both were elected this fall. The board also appointed Davis to represent the county at the Virginia School Board Association. James Monroe District member Rick Randall will represent the county at Chesapeake Governor's School, and Novell at Commonwealth Governor's School. The board also set its meeting calendar for 2012. The next meeting will be at 5 p.m. Monday, when acting Superintendent Stanley Jones will present a draft of the budget for 2012-13. At 6 p.m. the board will hold its regular session. Both meetings will take place in the Revercomb Building near King George Courthouse. --Amy Flowers Umble
