Craig O. Washington
Craig O. Washington, 38, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012. Craig was owner of the Washington Funeral Home of Tappahannock and was employed at the J.K. Redmond Funeral Home of Shacklefords. He was a graduate of Essex High School, the mortuary program at John Tyler Community College and Virginia Commonwealth University. Craig was also involved with several civic and professional organizations, mainly the Tappahannock Town Council. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Toni Blue Washington; his son, Cameron O. Washington; his daughter, Kennedy B. Washington; his mother, Blanche R. Washington; two brothers, Lt. Col. Oliver D. Washington Jr. and his wife, Patty, and S. Olander Washington; one sister, retired Air Force Senior Master Sgt. Phyllis Dickerson and her husband, retired Chief Master Sgt. Lewis S. Dickerson. The viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at Washington Funeral Home, 1404 Tappahannock Blvd., Tappahannock. Family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m., with a memorial service from 7 to 8 p.m., Friday at First Baptist Church, Tappahannock. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at Beale Memorial Baptist Church, U.S. 17, Tappahannock. Interment will be in the First Baptist Church Cemetery, Marsh Street, Tappahannock. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Virginia Morticians' Association Scholarship Fund, Box 867, Lawrenceville, Va. 23868.
