R. Peter Pouliot, 68 passed away on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, after suffering for a number of years with Parkinson's disease.
He was born Sept. 4, 1943, to Roland J. Pouliot and Lillian Delisle Pouliot of Ashburnham, Mass. He was a longtime resident of Ashburnham, where he worked for the Highway Department and served as a volunteer fireman. Peter married Linda Pedini in 1963. They had two daughters, Dina and Laurie.
In 1985, Peter married Nancy Kaufmann and moved to Fredericksburg. Peter worked for the City of Fredericksburg Department of Traffic for 20 years until the effects of Parkinson's forced his retirement in 2007.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Pouliot of Fredericksburg; two daughters, Dina Pouliot of Fredericksburg and Laurie Pouliot of Gardner, Mass.; two brothers, Norman Pouliot of Seattle, Wash., and David Pouliot of Mineral; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives and friends who will miss his engaging smile and easygoing personality.
Peter's life will be celebrated at a gathering for family and friends at his home from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012. Peter's cremains will be buried in Massachusetts.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research; or Mary Washington Hospice in Fredericksburg.
