Eight men are facing charges after a drug raid in Caroline County.

According to Sheriff Tony Lippa, a drug raid was conducted early Thursday morning on two homes on Riva Ridge Road in the Dawn area and a third in Ruther Glen.

Investigators reported seizing what they believe to be crack cocaine valued at $2,000 and more than $1,400 in cash.

"This operation was done in order to arrest and collect further evidence against seven individuals suspected of operating an organized cocaine distribution ring in the Dawn area of Caroline County," Lippa said.

The following men are facing charges:

Travis Tillman, 32, of Ruther Glen is charged with four counts of distributing cocaine.

Antoine Tillman, 35, of Ruther Glen and Kantrell Tillman and Terry Smither, both 21 and of Doswell, are charged with three counts of distributing cocaine.

Vodell Tillman, 24, and Devin Williams, 18, of Doswell are charged with two counts of distributing cocaine.

Kwumane Goodall, 18, of Doswell is charged with one count of distributing cocaine.

Lippa said the eighth arrest was made after a man jumped from a second-story window of a house as members of the Caroline special emergency response team were making their way to the room he was in.

Investigators reported that when the man landed on the ground, he began to run while throwing a substance believed to be cocaine along with money into a wooded area beside the home.

Montrell Tillman, 23, was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute.

The raid, which Lippa called Operation Crackdown, was conducted by the Caroline Sheriff's Office narcotics investigators, special emergency response team and patrol units. They were assisted by the King George County emergency response team, the Virginia State Police tactical team and members of the Tri-County Narcotics Task Force, which includes law enforcement from Caroline, King George and Westmoreland counties and the state police.
