Burglaries reported at Culpeper station

Culpeper town police investigators are seeking the public's help in solving two burglaries at the C&C Shell station on the Orange Road.

On the night of Sept. 30, a cash register was stolen. It contained cash and keys to cars left for repair work at the service station.

One of those vehicles, a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier, was taken but later recovered by Culpeper County sheriff's deputies on Greens Corner Road.

The latest incident occurred March 24, when someone entered the business through the garage about 11 p.m. and unsuccessfully attempted to pry open a cash register.

The thief managed to open a second register and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. Also missing was a digital video recorder.

Anyone with information is asked to call Culpeper Crime Solvers at 540/727-0300 or contact Detective Sue Stewardson at 540/829-5502, or Detective Richard Brooking at 540/829-5504.
