I have a difficult time understanding the objections to the Oktoberfest on Caroline Street. The tax revenue is significant, and other businesses do get a look. The streets are clean and smell-free the next morning. And people will come back if they see something they like.

What I don't understand is why merchants don't stay open on First Fridays, when downtown is always busy. We would all benefit from more participation. Focus on the positive!
