We would like to comment on what a special evening it was at the April 21 Kenny Rogers concert with the UMW Philharmonic Orchestra in the new Anderson Center.
Before Kenny Rogers appeared onstage, we enjoyed a tribute to Henry Mancini and Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA" by the UMW Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Kevin Bartram.
The only thing that marred the evening were people who were constantly talking while we were trying to enjoy the music.
When you pay this kind of money to hear a concert, you expect to be able to listen to the music without people laughing and talking while the orchestra was playing.
Two adult women behind us were opening bags of candy with their teeth and laughing, not even listening to the orchestra. Our stares didn't help. We were sitting very close to each other and could hear every word they were saying.
Please have some consideration for the other patrons and the beautiful-sounding Philharmonic Orchestra!
