A few bad apples are ruining Salem Fields

Date published: 5/2/2012

Recently there has been a crime wave in Salem Fields and surrounding communities in Spotsylvania County.

When I first moved to Salem Fields, I found a community of warmth and growth--a very good place to call home.

I frequent the back trails on a nice day, sometimes to walk to the store, or others to play my guitar at the storm retention pond.

I work in this community and have seen how it is being threatened. It is very disheartening to think a few bad seeds can try to upset the apple cart.

I have also had to request help through the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office. I want to take the time right now to thank them for their service. They are thorough, getting to know our community (whether they wanted to or not), and are protecting our families and lives.

I think their decision to lock down some of the schools while there was an incident on April 25 was a smart one.

Kudos to the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office. I appreciate it, and the Salem Fields community should, too.
