Head Start
Students of the Week were Kensy Rodas-Vasquez, Isaac Morgan, Kaylee Martinez-Martinez, Suellen Gross, Adrian Mayorga-Castro, James Hammond, Yousef Farzayee, Christian Gunter, Alexa Ramirez, Chrisshon Mitchell, Amiyah Johnson, Isreal Joyner, Charles Harrison and Francisco Lozano.
Employees of the Month were J.D. Sanderson, Sandy Thatcher, Janet Rogers, Melissa Hughes, Linda Hoe, Brenda Spencer-Wells, Melanie Hughes, Judy Carmel and Shelly Calderon.
Volunteers of the Month were Nichole Guy, Yury Contreras, Eileen Delewski, Elise Reed, Tarra Chadwick, Amy Armstrong and Akosua Ishangi.
Children recognized for Character Education, "Cooperation," for the month of April were Germiyah Green, Brianna Munayco, Caleb Hayes, Brandon Cook, Quincy Potter, Brandon Lopez, Angelica Corral, Carter Otto, Savyon Walters, William Bunns IV, Pablo Romero and Kaylee Martinez-Martinez.

Dixon-Smith Middle
Linda Walker's seventh- and eighth-grade art students completed the soup bowl project in March. The bowls were sold for a minimum donation of $3 for the food bank. The project was very successful, with a donation of $461 going to the Fredericksburg Area Food Bank. For every $1 donation, the food bank can provide four meals worth of food. Soup bowls that were left over were given away at the "Agents of Change" celebration at Colonial Forge High School. The soup bowl project was funded by a grant from the Dixon-Smith PTO.
The following band students performed recently at the District Solo and Ensemble Festival held at Massaponax High School.
Each student received a rating of "Superior" on his or her performance: Matt Homoroc, Christina Rollins, Allan Bolton, Lucas Sharrett, Morgan House, Maria Barber, Justin Cole, Diana Bloom, Youn He Oh, Ally Bolton, Scott Barksdale and Kristina Barksdale.

Brooke Point High
Senior Sarah Morley placed second in an art contest at LibertyTown Arts Workshop. She created a portrait of Abraham Lincoln using M&M's.
Sophomore Yousra Neberai competed recently in the state debate tournament, representing the school well against fierce competition.
She came away with a goal of placing in the top three next year in Student Congress.
