Harvey Berton Lightner, 64, of Fredericksburg died Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond.
Mr. Lightner was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a member of Moose Lodge 1655, the Chancellor Lions Club and the National Rifle Association. He was known in the community as Bert the Magician. He was an IT specialist for the EPA in Washington, D.C.
Survivors include his wife of 41/2 years, Karen Lightner; his father, Roger Lightner; two sisters, Kathleen Lightner Goodman and her husband, Joel, and Becki Chewning and her husband, John; and his nieces and nephews, Patrick, Sarah, Patience, Ashley, Adam, Nicole, Chris, Erin, Danny, Courtney and Olivia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Lightner.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Quantico National Cemetery.
