When cops go bad, why does law go soft?

In the past year, how many times has The Free Lance-Star reported on the latest pervert caught in a sting by detectives, soliciting sex online from a minor? And the stories about the lengthy sentences dished out to said perverts?

There are those sickos who never have sex with a victim and who get 20 to 30 years in prison.

But once again, a cop gets no prison, and a double standard is applied. Police who abuse their positions of trust should get double the time of others.

Not only is this former Fredericksburg cop not punished, he doesn't even have to register as a sex offender, as all others who have committed sex crimes must do.

It goes to show, the police and courts are not acting in a fair and impartial manner. The moral: It's OK for police to commit crimes.
