Many of us in Fredericksburg would like to say "Thank you" to Comcast for helping us to beautify the Rappahannock River.
On April 21, approximately 200 volunteers from Comcast, Rappahannock Big Brothers Big Sisters, Friends of the Rappahannock, and the local community joined forces for a river cleanup as part of the 11th annual Comcast Cares Day.
Comcast Cares Day is Comcast's companywide day of community service in which tens of thousands of Comcast employees, along with their families, friends, and community partners, work together to make a difference in hundreds of communities across the country.
Comcast Cares Day is believed to be one of the largest single days of volunteer service in corporate America.
Rappahannock Big Brothers Big Sisters and Comcast share a common goal--an ongoing commitment to the Fredericksburg community.
Our relationship is an excellent example of how public-private partnerships can make a difference.
Thanks to Comcast's continued support, we have been able to increase the number of mentors we provide to children through our Bigs in Schools program.
Together, we will continue to make a difference in this wonderful community.
