John C. Gurley, 86, of Fredericksburg died Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Mary Washington Hospital.
John loved fishing and visiting the Florida coast, gardening, building boats and watching golf. He was a longtime resident of Fredericksburg.
Survivors include his son, John Michael Gurley of Spotsylvania County; his daughter, Anne Gurley Barnes and her husband, James, of Fredericksburg; his brother, Ree Gurley of Silver Spring, Md.; his sister-in-law, Mary Louise Gurley of Los Angeles; his grandsons, Scott and John Barnes; many nieces and nephews; and loving friends.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 10, at Christ Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Christ Lutheran Church Building Fund, 1300 Augustine Ave., Fredericksburg, Va. 22401.
