This is in rebuttal to the May 2 editorial titled "Don't laugh."
Professional clowns are aware that audience members may be fearful; they respect that and will not force themselves upon somebody who is not prepared to enjoy their entertainment.
Editorial writers should make sure they have all the facts on how clowning is approached in a hospital setting before they write their opinions. It is a shame that the author did not.
Perhaps next time when he addresses a particular subject, he should do complete research prior to print.
