Gilbert Nathan Skinner, 70, of Stafford County died Saturday, May 5, 2012, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
Mr. Skinner had served in the U.S. Army and retired from the Fredericksburg-Stafford Park Authority.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel and Woody Skinner; and sisters Shirley Thieke and Patricia Skinner.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Roberta Skinner; two sons, Gilbert and Kenneth Skinner, both of King George County; two daughters, Melissa Skinner and Angela Loudin, both of White Oak; 11 grandchildren, Kristal Swor, Staci Thompson, Candice Loudin, Anthony Loudin, Ashley Skinner, Harley Skinner, Blair Skinner, Tyler Brock, Jacob Moore, Nathan Skinner and Austin Skinner; three great-grandchildren, Alessa Swor, Gage Thompson and Jayden Loudin; one sister, Myra Sullivan; four nieces, Diane Bousum, Tina Beach, Lisa Hall and Traci Parker; and two nephews, James and Danny Sullivan.
Family and friends will celebrate Gilbert's life from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at Brooks Park.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 16, at Quantico National Cemetery, with Pastor John White officiating.
