Lois Stevens Dawson, 71, of Annapolis, Md., formerly of King George County, died Friday, May 4, 2012, at her home after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Lancaster County to William and Mary Stevens and was the youngest of five daughters.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Thomas Dawson of Annapolis, formerly of King George; two daughters, Tamalyn Dawson of Annapolis and Tephanie Dawson Hodges of Richmond; two granddaughters, June Ellen Hodges and Lois Kay Hodges of Richmond; and a sister, Marguerite Eckard of King George.
In addition to being a loving wife and caring mother, Lois was an active participant in many organizations during her time in Annapolis, including the Naval Academy Women's Club, the Naval Academy Garden Club, the Hammond-Harwood House Association, First Night Annapolis and, most recently, the Navy Relief Society's Thrift Shop.
A memorial gathering in her honor will be held Tuesday, May 15, at Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St. in Annapolis, where family will receive friends between 2 and 5 p.m.
