Early-childhood work earns Kinard kudos

As the local school systems are beginning to focus on the end-of-year testing and graduations, many parents and children are beginning to focus on the transition from home or preschool to kindergarten for the next school year.

Registration for kindergarten is already beginning in the city and counties. The Smart Beginnings Rappahannock Area group is playing an active role in supporting transitions for early childhood. In turn, they are supported by a cadre of community businessmen and leaders.

One such gentleman is Glenn Kinard. As the president of the local PNC Bank, he is committed to early childhood education and is a strong advocate for all children. His ready smile and generous heart are truly making a difference in the lives of children.

Mr. Kinard was recognized at the Virginia Star Quality Rating reception last week with other local leaders and child care centers. He is indeed a leader among leaders, and it is our privilege to work alongside him in support of children and families in our community.
