The Parade has been busy this year. They wrapped up an album of new material several weeks ago, opened several shows for the Avett Brothers in the spring and are currently gearing up for the summer festival season. They'll also play Jammin' Java on Thursday, May 24, as Dangermuffin's opening act.

"Our goal isn't to grow up fast, necessarily," he said. "This is a 10-year plan. We want to build a fan base, and we want to do it by touring the country over and over again, putting on a show that's worthy of people telling their friends about.

"If someone decided to put one of my songs onto the soundtrack for 'The Hunger Games II' or something, then that's great. But that's not the plan. What we're doing is something old-fashioned, something I've been doing for years: putting on a great show and hoping that people want to come see what we're doing next."

Andrew's first car was a 1956 tour bus. It parallel-parked like a dream.
