Marie Bertha Bush, 92, of Fredericksburg, formerly of Sand Lake, Mich., passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Hughes Home after a long illness.

Marie was born March 6, 1920, in Sand Lake to the late Walter and Verna Grimes.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charles H. Bush Jr.; daughter Trudy M. Bush; two brothers, Richard and Raymond Grimes; and two sisters, Eleanor Lewis and Martha Merlington, all of Sand Lake.

Survivors include her two sons, Michael Bush and wife Paula of Stafford County and Patrick Bush and wife Toni of Sand Lake; four grandchildren, Michael Bush and wife Valerie of South Boston, Andrew Bush and wife Suzanne of Spotsylvania County, Kara Conover and husband Bruce of Stafford and Wayne Bush and wife Ami of Oklahoma; sister Norma Gross of Sand Lake; and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Hughes Home for the wonderful care they gave G.G., and her hospice support team, Carol, Bea and Burtie, for the loving care and comfort.

A special thank you to Pastor Rob Carter, who held G.G.'s hand on her long journey home.

Interment will be at Mary Queen of Apostles Parish cemetery, Sand Lake, at a later date.
