Lloyd Stuart, 79, of Fredericksburg died on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, in Fredericksburg.

He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Jean Eisenhower Stuart; his parents, Homer and Lizzie McMahan Stuart; and a sister, Eliza Stuart Scott Finchum, and brothers Frank, Carl and Charles Stuart, all of Tennessee. He is also survived by his beloved granddogs, Gidget, Dixie, Duke, Heidi and Bubba.

Mr. Stuart had retired from Safeway. He attended Emanuel Baptist Church and was an avid Redskins fan.

Mr. Stuart is survived by a daughter, Sharon Denise Stuart of Fredericksburg; a brother, Troy Stuart of Newport, Tenn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A family visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 21, at Johnson Funeral Home, Locust Grove. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Greenfield Assisted Living of Fredericksburg or Mary Washington Hospice.
