Spotsylvania detectives are investigating two robberies that occurred within 30 minutes of each other late Monday.

About 11 p.m., Sheriff's Capt. Mike Harvey said, a 46-year-old woman who lives in the 5500 block of Slater Street in Oak Grove Terrace subdivision off Leavells Road had just let her dogs out when two men entered her home displaying what appeared to be a nightstick.

They tied up the woman with cords found in the home and took jewelry and electronics before fleeing on foot. Harvey said the woman later freed herself, ran to a neighbor's house and called 911.

The suspects were described as thin black males wearing dark clothing. One was about 5 feet 8 inches tall and the other was about 5 feet 4.

About a half-hour earlier, a pizza delivery driver was robbed as she was making a delivery in the 4600 block of Alliance Way off Lafayette Boulevard not far from Olde Greenwich Village Shopping Center.

Harvey said that as the 30-year-old woman approached the home, which turned out to be unoccupied, three males approached her. One displayed a knife and held the victim while the other two took an undisclosed amount of cash. They then ran off.

The suspects were described only as black males all wearing black and gray.

Anyone with information about either incident is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 582-7115 or Crime Solvers at 582-5822.
