"Selfish straights won't share sins with gays," according to Paul Akers in his May 19 column. Boy, did he hit the nail on the head.

"It seems persnickety to single out one group for empurpled denunciation." Akers writes. "Why put a doorman at the gate of a sty?"

I immediately thought of a pigsty after the seventh reading. This guy is deep, knee-deep, in something. Observing our society, I would agree it is a pigsty.

But wait! How about a sty in the eye? There's something to be said for removing the log in my eye, before squealing about the splinter in my brother's eye.

While I wallow in the "mud," I'd much rather squeal at another than myself.

We all owe a debt of gratitude to this self-convicting rant. In the end, we're all going to be judged by our own bacon, and believe it or not the end is very near!
