Windell Johnson, 60, departed this life on Thursday, May 24, 2012, at his residence in Newtown.
He is survived by his mother, Laura B. Johnson of St. Stephens Church; one son, Steven Johnson of Tappahannock; four sisters, Mary M. Jeter (Truett) of Bowling Green, Carolyn Nelson of Tappahannock, and Pauline Johnson and Patricia Johnson, both of St. Stephens Church; four brothers, Charles L. Johnson Sr. (Thelma), Luther E. Johnson, Robert D. Johnson Sr. (Barbara) and Prentis Johnson, all of St. Stephens Church. He also leaves a longtime friend and companion, Glennis Fauntleroy.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 27, at Washington Funeral Home, 1404 Tappahannock Blvd., Tappahannock. A service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 28, at First Mount Olive Baptist Church, Newtown, with the Rev. Drucilla Tate officiating. The Rev. Dennis Dabney will be the eulogist. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
