Albert R. Farris, 72, of Caroline County passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012, surrounded by his loving family at the veterans hospital in Richmond.

Mr. Farris was born May 1, 1940, in southern West Virginia to Willie Russell Farris and Lydia Margret Keen Farris. He was one of seven children.

After his service in the Air Force, he spent most of his professional life in the automotive repair industry as a body shop manager in Northern Virginia.

His interests included spending time with his family, playing bingo and taking care of his garden, his livestock and his pool.

He is survived by wife Peggy; five children, Allen, David, Linda, Annette and Jerome; brother Paul; sisters Yvonne and Lou; seven grandchildren, Carl, Crystina, Miranda, Analisa, Kayla, Nicholas and Jade; two great-grandchildren, Cierra and Faith; and 20 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Ida; and his brothers Ralph and Otis.

The viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 18, at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Home. A service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, followed by interment in Quantico National Cemetery at 1 p.m.
