Edna Lumpkin, 85, peacefully joined her loving husband and best friend of 65 years on Thursday, June 7, 2012.

Edna had a warm sense of humor and loving nature, which made her life wonderful and full of fun.

She loved and devoted much of her time to her family and Lake of the Woods Church. She was born in Elberton, Ga., on Sept 2, 1926. On Dec 20, 1946, she married John Lumpkin. Two years later the first of their four children was born. Her children and their spouses, eight grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren will truly miss her. A service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on June 16, at St. Peter the Fisherman Episcopal Church, New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

Hospice was instrumental in the care of both Edna and John at the end of their lives, so the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be sent to Vitas Hospice, 2381 Mason Ave., Suite 100, Daytona Beach, Fla. 32117.
