Barney Clifford Squiers, 78, of Locust Grove passed away Monday, June 11, 2012, at his home.

He served his country in the U.S. Army. Barney was also in the automobile business in Northern Virginia for more than 40 years, and was the owner and operator of Barney's Auto Service at Bailey's Crossroads for 37 years.

Barney is survived by his loving wife, B. Allene Squiers of Locust Grove; a son, Barney A. Squiers and his wife, Suzie, of Orange County; three daughters, Victoria Squiers and her fiance, Bubba, of Starkville, Miss., Barbara Hoskins and her husband, Chuck, of Aldie, and Patricia LaCava and her husband, Paul, of Unionville. He is also survived by two brothers, Donald Squiers and his wife, Esther, of Townsend, Vt., and Steb Squiers and his wife, Shirley, of Guilford, Vt.; and his grandchildren, Brittney, Cole, Brooke, Bree, Anthony, Jimmy, Amanda, Joey, Jamie, Grace and Nathaniel.

A visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, June 18, at Johnson Funeral Home, Locust Grove. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, at the funeral home chapel, with burial to follow in Culpeper National Cemetery, Culpeper. The Rev. Cliff Barnes will officiate.
