'Crass ignorance' is in the eyes of the beholder

Date published: 6/20/2012

This is in response to Will Ross' June 15 letter ["Plenty of crass ignorance to go around"].

I thank him for proving the true liberal belief that anyone who does not believe the way he does is "ignorant." I only wish he could be Barack Obama's campaign spokesperson in the upcoming election; he would lose hands down.

Just the fact that Mr. Ross wrote a letter to the newspaper calling his niece and her husband an example of "crass ignorance" should make him very proud. I'm sure they are proud of him as well.

Now, about the "birther" issue. There would never have been any issue if President Obama had just answered the question in the first place.

Personally, it doesn't matter to me where the man was born if his policies are for the good of this great country we live in, but they are not.

Also, as far as the idea that this is somehow connected to race, there would not be nearly as much racism in this country if people could express their views freely without someone instantly throwing out the race card.

I don't care if the man is fluorescent pink if he governs this country well and has its best interest at heart, but he does not.

Finally, Mr. Ross mentions Jim Jones. For Mr. Ross and those like him, Barack Obama is his Jim Jones.

I can only pray to God that Mr. Ross and those like him do not follow this man blindly until one day he (and his children) wake up standing in a food line exchanging half of what he owns for a single loaf of bread.
