On behalf of the Office of Voter Registration and Elections, and the Orange County Electoral Board, I would like to thank all of our election officers for their service during our recent June primary election.

These men and women work long hours to ensure the integrity of our democracy. They are dedicated individuals and true assets to this office as well as to all of Orange County.

They attend advance training and devote additional hours in preparing for each election. I have a deep respect for each and every one of them.

We have numerous long-serving election officers who are extremely diligent and dedicated to the election process. We also had a crop of "new recruits" who performed outstandingly and were very enthusiastic to learn the process.

You may wonder who these individuals are. They are your neighbors, friends, and colleagues. They are residents of Orange County who have chosen to become active members in their community and get involved in the democratic process that our nation was founded on.

With the approaching presidential election on Nov. 6, we are looking for additional residents to serve as election officers. If you are interested in serving, please call the Office of Voter Registration and Elections at 540/672-5262.
