When the last hurricane came through, we were without electricity for seven days. Yes, it was hot, and we did not have a generator.
It is too bad that our society has become an "it's all about me" one.
To those who are without electricity now, if you think you are hot, how hot do you think those out in the full sun trying to re-establish electricity and phone service are?
Everyone thinks he or she is the most important, but what about the elderly and others who depend on machines for their breathing?
Stores, restaurants, hospitals, rescue squads, fire departments, and police should be high priority. I understand that some of our people were in Florida helping restore electricity there from Tropical Storm Debby.
Patience and cool heads will prevail in this situation. Thank those you see working for you; it will go much further than hatefulness.
I honestly don't know of anyone who got their electricity re-established because they called and complained.
