Help vets and send phonies to Afghanistan

Tom Sileo's June 21 op-ed titled "Pay attention: These are not toy soldiers" was a great article, once again showing what we pay for a free America.

And the great response of Americans for the "wounded warrior" program--believe me, support for our troops hasn't always been like it is now.

A few weeks ago, I read something somewhere about people selling magazine subscriptions with the proceeds (and the magazines, if you take that option) going to the wounded warrior program. I read that the ploy was a scam.

I was privileged to hear one such presentation, and the spiel was extraordinary. It went something like this: "My father is a retired serviceman, and he felt that it would build character if I went door-to-door to aid in this service to our wounded warriors."

It resulted in a sale with the subscriptions going to a veterans hospital.

Let's find the charlatans, hand them a rifle, and send them to Afghanistan!
