A bunch of these people are now trying to dictate to the rest of us that we can no longer believe in and act upon rights that were given by our forefathers. This includes health care reform.
I would like my president to come to my town and go under the bridges where some homeless people live and tell them they must buy health insurance.
Also, Christians will no longer have the right to refrain from assisting or performing abortions.
I am amazed that anyone today would endeavor to shove such outlandish edicts down the throats of the American people.
I have just finished reading our Declaration of Independence. It states "that among these (rights) are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, that whenever any form of government becomes destructive of the ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness."
We, the American people, are the "governed"! No one in power is listening to us. Our Declaration says we have the right to institute a new government. Most of us like it the way it has been for over 236 years and wouldn't want to change it.
Our United States is the best in the world. Let's make them hear us on Election Day so that it will preserve our original Declaration.
But we can still take action concerning this alarming and serious situation right now by calling our political leaders and letting them know this won't be tolerated.
We can pray like we've never prayed before and best of all we can go to the polls on Election Day and be counted.
