World is starting to feel wrong kind of 'Green'
Current conditions made me recall the 1973 movie titled "Soylent Green" with Charlton Heston and Edward G. Robinson.
Set in New York City in 2022 amidst searing heat, air pollution, unemployment, and widespread hunger, the plot is a real downer.
Those with connections and wealth live in relative splendor, while the masses eat government-issued rations called Soylent Green (made from human remains!).
The movie is currently available both on DVD and Blu-ray. Those needing a quick fix will find a plot summary on Wikipedia.
In 1973 the story took place 50 years in the future; now it's just around the corner.
