Edgar "Ed" Willis Lacy III, 69, of Richmond went to join his Lord and his loving parents, Dr. and Mrs. E. Willis Lacy Jr., on Saturday, July 7, 2012.
Ed is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Linda Woodall Lacy; daughter Mary Margaret McGuire and son-in-law Paul McGuire; son Willis Lacy and daughter-in-law Robin Lacy; four grandchildren, Lacy, Sam, Claire, and Maggie; sisters Elizabeth Thompson and Annie O'Donnell; two aunts; eight cousins; eight nieces and nephews; and countless close friends.

Ed was a dedicated member of First Presbyterian Church and a dedicated member of the Richmond community, serving on the board of the Richmond Food Bank, working with the American Heart Association, United Way of Greater Richmond, FeedMore, and, more recently, working with the Richmond Memorial Health Foundation. Ed will always be remembered as being the incredibly caring and genuine man he was. He was always eager to listen, quick to forgive and unselfish with his compassion. He made the world a better place for those fortunate enough to have known him.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Bliley's Funeral Service-Central, 3801 Augusta Ave., Richmond A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 12, at First Presbyterian Church, 4602 Cary Street Road, Richmond, Va. 23226.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Richmond Food Bank.
