Temporary intersection change made as part of the Spotsylvania Courthouse Road project.

Route 208 crossroad will move this week
There will be a temporary change to the Alsop Town Road/State Route 208 intersection in Spotsylvania County this week to allow drivers continued access to the side road while work on the second phase of the Courthouse Road Bypass project is being done.
The change will be a temporary Alsop Town Road entrance about 500 feet south of the current one, said Kelly Hannon of the Virginia Department of Transportation. From that point, a temporary ramp will carry vehicles to a connection with Alsop Town Road. Signs are posted to help drivers navigate the new setup.
The temporary entrance will be in place about four weeks as crews rebuild the Route 208/Alsop Town Road intersection and the new lanes as part of the bypass project.
The revamped intersection will be in the same general location but will have improved sight distance, Hannon said.
The first phase of the project was finished in 2008. The second, $28 million, phase is due for completion in February.
