Carolyn R. Cox, 73, passed away Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, in Cumming, Ga.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 20, at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue, in Macon, Ga., with burial in Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Bob Shell will officiate. The family will meet friends from 10 a.m. to service time on Monday at the funeral home.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Chancel Choir of Liberty United Methodist Church, 6511 Houston Road, Macon, Ga. 31216; or to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry St., Macon, Ga. 31201.
Mrs. Cox, wife of the late William Roland Cox and daughter of the late Ruth Sophie Roesner Schneider and John Martin Schneider, was a native of Evansville, Ind. She was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church, the Liberty Chancel Choir and the Liberty United Methodist Women, executive secretary. Mrs. Cox was a Coliseum Hospital Volunteer, where she had over 800 hours of caring. She was a member of the Peachie H'Attitudes Red Hat Group, H2U, AARP, HARFE and XYZ.
Survivors include her children, Sam (Shannon) Cox of Bealeton, Rhett (Amy) Cox of Black River, N.Y., and Roxanne (Bruce) Smith of Atlanta; her beloved grandchildren, Sam Cox Jr., Chris Cox, Aly Woods and Elizabeth Cox; sister Mary McGrew; and brother John (Ruth) Schneider.
