On behalf of the men and women of the Stafford County Sheriff's Office, I would like to publicly thank the many volunteers who worked so tirelessly to produce such a wonderful National Night Out on the evening of Tuesday, Aug. 7.
Many people and whole neighborhoods worked together to create an evening of fun and activities for hundreds of families and thousands of residents all over Stafford County.
The message was loud and clear that the neighborhoods and communities belong to the residents of Stafford County, not to those intent on committing crimes.
A special thanks goes to Patricia Copeland, Nick Zumwalt, 1st Sgt. Darrell English, Lisa Logan, Caryn Souza and the neighborhoods of Augustine North, Austin Ridge, Brentwood Estates, Celebrate by Del Webb, Clearview Heights, English Oaks, Falls Run, Garrison Woods, Hampton Oaks, Leeland Station, Potomac Hills, Sky Terrace Town Homes, Spring Lake Farm, Staffordboro Townhouses and Woodlawn.
I would also like to thank the 69 vendors who participated in the communitywide National Night Out event held at Stafford Market Place. Over 3,500 people participated in the one event alone!
