William R. Erskine III

William R. Erskine III, 61, of Fredericksburg went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at Shore Medical Center in Somers Point, N.J.

Mr. Erskine was a member at Hollywood Church of the Brethren, where he served as assistant to the pastor and a Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include his wife, Linda M. Erskine; son Harley Slacum of Altoona, Iowa; sister Deirdre Mullin and her husband, Bill, of Portland, Ore.; nephews Bill and Scott Mullin; and niece Christie Natonek.

A service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Hollywood Church of the Brethren. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
