Kelly, Brown win LOWA board seats

Lake of the Woods Association board members will choose new officers today following a election in which President Pat Rowland lost his bid for another board term.

LOW Treasurer Olive Kelly was the top vote-getter in Monday's tally, with 1,160.21 votes. Laurie Brown, chairwoman of the LOWA's rules committee, won the second seat with 1,047.5 votes.

Rowland received 854.71 votes, while first-time candidate Simon Gray received 473.5.

Each ballot in the election could specify two candidates for election. Fractional ballot counts result from joint or multiple ownership of some lots in LOW.

The homeowners association board consists of seven directors elected for staggered three-year terms.
