LOWA board elects Shope as president
Bob Shope will serve as Lake of the Woods Association president for the next year.
Shope was elected to the post yesterday during an organizational meeting of the LOWA board of directors. He replaces Pat Rowland, who lost his bid for re-election bid to a board seat.
Shope was elected to the LOWA board in 2010 and has a year left on his three-year term as a director.
"I am really honored," Shope said of his election as president. "I ran a couple of years ago, and said that I was here for the people. Now I am going to have this position to help our membership along more."
The board also voted Wednesday to keep Vice President Dave McKee and Treasurer Olive Kelly in those posts for another year.
Laurie Brown, who won a director seat Monday, was picked by the board to be the secretary.
