Regarding your Sept. 5 article "Dems' platform includes taxes, marriage, abortion, military," I feel a few comments are in order as I am also reading a book titled "No Higher Power."

It is discouraging to note that the platform supports abortion in such a strong way, in opposition to God's will. It also endorses gay marriage in defiance of God's definition in the Word that marriage is between a man and a woman and that the union of a man and woman is holy to Him.

This particular endorsement in the platform is also in direct violation of the federal Defense of Marriage Act, which is the law of the land but which has been opposed by the current administration.

Not only have the Dems supported these two major planks in their platform, they have dropped the word "God" [subsequently reinstated--Ed.] from it as a demonstration of what I believe is a strong secular position toward making the government itself into a church.

God is not taking this lightly, and if there is no repentance and change, there will be a penalty to pay. The people of this country of all faiths and religions who love and worship the one true God must reassert themselves and take a stand to stop this secularism movement.

This election allows us that voice!
