Thomas G. Lauterbach

Thomas Gene Lauterbach, 67, a native of Dayton, Ohio, (also known as "Uncle Tom," "Uncle Pumpkin" and "Doedoe Pig") passed away peacefully, Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, in King George County.

Born Feb. 10, 1945, Tommy was a 1963 graduate of Chaminade High School and married his high school sweetheart, Pamela Miller Lauterbach, in 1966. Tom received his bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Dayton.

As an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Parrish in Athol Springs, N.Y., Tom served as a Eucharistic minister. He developed an athletic program that serviced over 200 young athletes and was an adamant UD Flyers, UM Wolverines and Buffalo Bills fan who coached baseball for more than 15 years. Tom loved spending time with his family, playing cards, genealogy, golfing and designing latch hook rugs. His sense of humor was unparalleled.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 46 years; his four children; and his five granddaughters. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial services will be held at Ascension Church in Kettering, Ohio, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to EOD Memorial Foundation 822 Coldwater Creek Circle, Niceville, Fla. 32578-1658, eodmemorial.org/donations.
