Judith Brown

Judith Elizabeth Brown, 78, of Spotsylvania County passed away Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, at her home.

Judith was a registered nurse for 30 years and was loved and appreciated by all of her patients. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed music and playing her violin.

She is survived by three daughters, Donna Oesterheld and her husband, John, of Spotsylvania, Kristina Rizzo and her husband, Louis, of New York and Carol Kurz and her husband, Brent, of Mechanicsville; a son, Chandler Bartz and his wife, Shea, of Abingdon; grandchildren Stephen, James, Louis Jr., Elise, Matthew, Connor, Abby and Juliana; her former husband, Clifford Bartz; and many friends through her church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Lillian Chandler; and her brother, Walcott Chandler.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at Zion United Methodist Church, 8700 Courthouse Road, Spotsylvania, Va. 22553. Judith's family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Judith's family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Zion United Methodist Church General Fund, 8700 Courthouse Road, Spotsylvania, Va. 22553.
