Spotsy citizen groups to meet

Four citizen advisory groups in Spotsylvania County will meet this month to provide recommendations on the county's comprehensive plan.

The Planning Commission appointed residents to the committees--each with a different topic to study. All of the meetings will be at 7 p.m. in the third-floor conference room at 9019 Old Battlefield Blvd.

The land use group meets Thursday.

The public facilities group meets Sept. 17.

The transportation group meets Sept. 18.

The historic and natural resources group meets Sept. 26.

Culpeper Library to host poker run

Friends of the Culpeper County Library will host its third annual Poker Run on Saturday morning.

Motorcyclists should be at the library (in the Southgate Shopping Center) between 8:30 and 10:30 to begin the ride.

The entry fee is $20 per hand, and prizes will be awarded for the best and worst hands following the four-stop country run.
