Julia Kay Stroman

Julia K. Stroman, 92, of Fredericksburg departed this life to be with the Lord on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at Hughes Home.

She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Port Royal.

She was a retired beautician, a member of the NAACP and the Democratic Committee and was a past member of the Rappahannock Community Service Board and the American Cancer Society.

Survivors include a brother, John Kay (Thelma); two sisters, Mary Woolfolk of Lanham, Md., and Emma Boyd of Fredericksburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home, 200 Butternut Drive, Fredericksburg.

A funeral will be held at noon Saturday, Sept. 15, at Shiloh Baptist Church, Port Royal. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the funeral. Pastor Gregory Nick will officiate and the Rev. Joseph Dobbins will deliver the eulogy. Interment will be private.
