Two Orange County men are facing drug charges following a raid in which authorities seized marijuana plants with a street value of about $21,000.

The Blue Ridge Narcotics and Gang Task Force, working with the Orange County Sheriff's Office and a state police aviation unit, conducted raids on two separate locations last Thursday.

According to a news release from the Sheriff's Office, officers seized $10,500 worth of plants from a property on Cranberry Lane in Unionville. Jonathan Breeden, 22, was charged with possession of marijuana, the release said.

Another $10,500 worth of marijuana plants were seized from a property on Gum Tree Road in Orange. Charges are pending against the owner, officials said.

The task force is made up of sheriff's deputies and police officers from Culpeper, Fauquier, Greene, Madison, and Orange counties and the towns of Culpeper and Orange, as well as special agents from the Virginia State Police Drug Enforcement Section.

Anyone with information on individuals manufacturing marijuana and/or possessing any illegal narcotic is encouraged to contact the task force at 540/547-2997 or
