Mary L. Groves

Mary L. Groves, 89, of Colonial Beach passed away Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at Westmoreland Rehab Center after a long illness.

Born in Westmoreland County, she was a homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother and "granny-mema."

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for 77 years.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, William H. Groves.

She is survived by her loving children, Jean E. Taylor and David Groves and wife Mary Ann, two grandsons, Jimmy Ferrell and Michael Groves, six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, all of Colonial Beach; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at Grace United Methodist Church, Rollins Fork, with the Rev. Billy Bowler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
